Meet the Staff
Howard Mock
- Owner

Howard became interested and enthused with music at a very young age. He grew up in a home surrounded by music. At age 10, the Beatles came to the U.S. and like most, he was so enamored that he knew he would, in some fashion, be involved with music his entire life.
Performance Experience
He played in several bands throughout Elementary School and High School. At age 25, he decided to play music full-time and traveled with a band throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Business
He came home in 1984 and saw the need for a professional music store in Mankato so he decided to open Rhapsody Music. He is still actively performing in the Mankato area with Local Bands.
Jason Madson
- Manager/Sales/Service

Jason lives in Waseca, MN and has been working at Rhapsody Music since 2000. He is Rhapsody's repair and intallation expert.
Educational Experience
Jason Majored in Physics at MSU and studied guitar repair with Dave Rusan in Minneapolis.
Performance Experience
Jason has been performing in bands since he turned seventeen giving him over 20 years of performance experience. He played his first paying gig at five years old. After singing "Rhinestone Cowboy," he was informed to pass the hat. The hat came back full of money and he was hooked ever since.
Other Hobbies and Pastimes
Ten months out of the cold Minnesota year, Jason enjoys riding his BMW motorcycle. The other two months, he anxiously thinks about riding.
Lee Henke
- Sales/Webmaster/Service

Lee was born in Southern Wisconsin and is currently pursuing a degree in Music Industry at MNSU. He has been working at Rhapsody since 2009.
Educational Experience
Lee has always been fascinated by music and art. In middle school, he began singing and playing guitar in a band along with playing tuba in concert band, jazz band and wind ensemble. Then, in Highschool, he became obsessed with everything music related even building and fixing instruments. He graduated with honors and went to college for Recording Technology and then switched to his current major of Music Industry. Lee is classically-trained in voice and piano and has over 8 years of industry experience.
Performance Experience
Lee played many different instruments in school ensembles and has experience playing every instrument commonly found in a rock band. Lee has performed in multiple recording studios, bars, auditoriums, clubs, ballrooms and shared many stages with well-known performers. He currently plays in Dr. Lee and the Terminally Chill, many side project groups, and performs frequently as a solo act.

Lee enjoys fishing, reading, creative writing and woodworking.
Dustin Hackworth
- Drums/Sales

Dustin started playing drums at age 13. He has been teaching at Rhapsody since 2010.
Educational Experience
Since then he has received 4 years of private instruction from various instructors, including the director of percussion studies at Gusdavus Adolphus University, Dr. Rick Orpen. Dustin is currently a senior at MSU studying Music Indusrty.
Teaching Experience
Dustin loves the challenge and the satisfaction of passing on his knowledge to who he believes are soon to be the greatest drummers the world has ever seen.
Performance Experience
He has also played with church groups, jazz combos, rock bands, and blues groups. He has performed at the Wisconsin state capital, received the Outstanding Performance in Jazz award from the city of La Crosse and has performed state competitions all across the Midwest. He currently performs on a weekly basis with Dr. Lee and the Terminally Chill. Drumming samples can be found at: www.theterminallychill.com
Other Hobbies and Pastimes
When Dustin isn't sitting behind a set, he enjoys a sunny game of golf or a heated match of tennis.
Rachel Mogck
- Sales

Rachel is orginally from Jamestown, ND. She started singing and playing alto sax in 5th grade and continued through highschool.
Educational Experience
In highschool, Rachel performed in Choir, Show Choir, Band, Vocal Jazz, Pep Band, Choir Contest, ND All-State Choir, UND Honor Choir, Theatre, and Various Musicals. She is currently enrolled at MSU, with a major in Music Industry.
Performance Experience
Rachel has performed with the Northern Ambassadors and travel Europe on tour.
Other Hobbies and Pastimes
When Rachel isn't involved in music, she enjoys video games, D n' D, reading, shopping and late night T.V.
Marissa Baumann
- Piano

Marissa has been teaching at Rhapsody Music since 2008 and has more than tripled her student roster in that time. She works out of the Alfred and Faber series and applies those methods to many styles of playing, including Classical, Jazz, Country and Pop.
Educational Experience
Marissa attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2009. She earned a bachelors degree in Music Industry and Business Law, focusing on Music Theory and Piano Pedagogy. Marissa took piano lessons for more than twelve years, including two semesters with Dr. David Viscoli at MSU.
Teaching Experience
Marissa has been teaching piano at Rhapsody Music since 2008, and also taught at MSU while in college. Each year she directs a band from the Rhapsdoy Junior Band program, assisting them with their music performance.
Performance Experience
Starting with ‘Mary had a Little Lamb,’ Marissa has been tickling the ivories since she could reach them. Throughout middle and high school she played piano for Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, Pep Band, and Honors Band, as well as partaking in her church’s worship team. While in college Marissa was a full-time pianist for a local church and played for services and different activities. She still enjoys playing for church services, weddings, accompaniments, and playing just for fun.
Other Hobbies and Pastimes
If she is not working, Marissa can be found enjoying the outdoors with her husband. She loves biking, camping, and fishing.
Bill Kindler
- Guitar

Bill started studying guitar at age 14 and has played in a variety of area bands encompassing a 40 year career. Bill's music style has ranged from Classic Rock and Blues to Jazz and Pop but he specializes in Classic Rock and Blues. Bill has performed with many of the area's best musicians and is currently in Billy and the Bangers.
Educational Experience
Bill studied music theory for two years as well as other music courses at MSU college.
Teaching Experience
Bill has been teaching guitar at Rhapsody Music for the past two years.
Performance Experience
He has played at a multitude of local clubs, festivals and weddings. Most recently he played several blues fests in the surrounding area including Riverfront Park.
Other Hobbies and Pastimes
When he's not playing guitar, Bill enjoys golf, basketball and reading. He also loves spending time with his wife Katy.
Johnathan Moeller
- Guitar

Johnathan has been taching at Rhapsody since 2009 and specializes in various styles including Classical, Jazz, Rock, Country, Pop, ect.
Educational Experience
He earned a Master's in Guitar Performance from MSU in 2009 and a Bachelor's in Guitar Performance from McNally Smith College of Music in 2007.
Teaching Experience
Jonathan began teaching guitar at Alexandria Music in 2007. In 2008, he was the guitar instructor for Lutheran Summer Music Academy and Festival held at Gustavus Adolphus College. In 2009, Johnathan began teaching at Rhapsody Music.
Performance Experience
Johnathan has played in Theatres, Festivals, Hotels, Restaurants, Fairs, Recording Studios, Telethons, Radio Stations, Parks, Churches, Parades, Coffee Shops, Bars, Ballrooms, Gymnasiums, ect. In addition to playing solo guitar, Johnathan currently performs with the DW3, Jerry Rodes, the Real Easy Jazz Quintet, and Kami Theimer.

Johnathan enjoys being with family and friends, traveling, billiards, and many outdoor activities.
Paul Norell
- Vocal

Paul grew up in Gaylord, MN
Educational Experience
He attended Sibley Eastand earned his diploma in 2009. Now Paul lives in Mankato and attends MNSU. He pursuing a degree in K-12 Vocal Music Education, with hopes to be a music teacher near the Mankato area.
Teaching Experience
Paul offers tutoring at MSU for Vocal Coaching and also leads worship at his home church in Norseland, MN. Currently he leads worship at a campus ministry at MNSU. He serves as the Voice Department's Representative in an Advisor Council and serves as a MNSU Student Ambassador.
Performance Experience
Paul is currently involved in MSU Chamber Choir, MSU Concert Choir as Bass Section Leader and MSU Voice Lessons. His history of performance includes MMEA All-State Men's Choir, Various ACDA State Honor Choirs Sibley East HS Concert and Show Choir, Sibley East HS Concert, Jazz and Pep Band and Opus One Children's Choir.
Other Hobbies and Pastimes
In his free time, Paul loves to get out of town and help work on his parent's farm. He also enjoys taking walks through Sibley Park, playing frisbee or having movie nights with friends.
